Wwoofer Guidelines
In order to make sure that visiting Wwoofers have an even more enjoyable stay, we have put together the
following notes to explain a few things about the way we work on this farm.
- Please present your WWOOF book and ID before signing in.
- Unless otherwise indicated, your daily hours of work are from 8:30am to 1:30pm, including a 15-minute break at
11:00am. These times may change due to weather conditions, guest demand, or seasonal workloads, so please be
flexible. We will let you know your starting time and job the night before whenever possible. Please be PROPERLY
DRESSED and READY TO START at your scheduled start time.
- Food is provided in the WWOOF kitchen for you to make your own breakfast, morning tea, and lunch. Woofers
should provide one list of needed food items to Melinda early in the day (to be left in the restaurant kitchen if
you cannot find her personally). She will do her best to provide the requested items as availability permits.
Please wash up after yourself and keep the WWOOF kitchen clean and tidy.
- Please note that your fellow Woofers are a good source of information about how things work around here, so be
sure to ask those who have been here longer if you don’t know how something works.
- We will provide you with your evening meal in the restaurant at 6:30pm unless otherwise informed. You are
expected to help with the after-dinner chores, including washing dishes, wiping tables and sweeping the floor.
- Drinking water is located in the silver tank at the rear of the hall.
- Since we must generate our own electricity, it is extremely scarce. Therefore please do not leave lights on or
plug in any electrical appliances.(HAIR DRYERS , HAIR STRAIGHTERS ETC)
- As our water supply is equally scarce, we need to save water at all times. Please therefore make sure that all
taps and showers are turned completely off after use and try to only shower every second day. If you see a tap
starting to leak, please let Mark know.
- The washing machine is only in use at certain times of the day due to generator requirements, so please check
times and have your washing ready early.
- Please keep your room and the area outside your room clean also the TV room.
- We respectfully ask that you refrain from disturbing your hosts at night as we have young children that go to
bed early
- Please do not pick anything from the gardens. If you need or want something specific, just ask. We’ll do our
best to accommodate your requests.
- Please remember that we also offer tourist accommodation as well as running a farm, so people may wish to
ask you questions. If they do, please be polite and friendly and ready to talk about whatever you have previously
done or are now doing.
- We ask that you read and review the Woofer guidelines in your Woofer book to avoid any possible misunderstandings
during your stay with us or any other Woofer host.
- If you are feeling unwell, please let us know. If you injure yourself, please report immediately to the First
Aid room.
- We ask that you stay a minimum of 4 days. After which if your work is satisfactory and you are happy here, we
would be delighted for you to stay longer.
We truly want you to enjoy your time with us and hope these guidelines will help make that easier. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask Mark or Melinda.
